The love affair between a person and the place they grew up in is a complicated one. For some she's a touch stone, for others it's an open relationship. Although she knows better than to trap our restless dash, confident that one day your ass would come back sniffing, she welcomes each with deep 'kisses of nostalgia'. Born and raised in these Midlands, touched venues in Manchester, London and Bristol. Mixing punk with hiphop, R&B with soul, taste testing the entire music buffet. This Valentine season, I asked the music duo Section6 x Pastelparty to pen a ‘ love letter ’ dedicated to here, their hometown of Northampton.

Dear NN ,
We have had our ups and downs, we've come through leaps and bounds,
musicians and artists in a factory town we push your ability to another realm by embracing what's around. Tell the youth - don't bury your head in the ground.
St Jame, Kings Heath, where we were born and raised, on the floodplain
but our memories would never wash away.
Summer days with scorching heat, old bus stations and hangouts with old friends,
Beckets park was a means to an end.
So let us lift each other up, a glass half full, not a glass half empty,
Happy Valentines to Northampton
I hope we see plenty.
